Dr. Paola Amiama was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is conversational in French. She achieved a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in special education from Loyola University of Maryland in 2018. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2023 after having attended Ross University for her pre-clinical studies and Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine for her clinical year. After having worked in Louisiana as a general practitioner for small animals for a year, she moved to Florida to be closer to her home and to enjoy its beautiful beaches.  She has a Chihuahua named Bambi, a Chihuahua mix named Abi and a Domestic Short Hair named Alfredo. In her free time, she loves to read, go to the beach, watch Formula 1 and spend time with family and friends. Dr. Amiama has special interests in acupuncture, shelter medicine and preventative medicine.
